How many Ultherapy shots are typical
Ultherapy is a microfocused ultrasound treatment made by Merz. HIFU (high-intensity focused ultrasound) is the wider name for this kind of treatment, and Shurink is also a HIFU device. Korean clinics count and price Ultherapy in shots (샷, syat). Journals call the same unit a "line", and one Korean study of the Ulthera system calls it a shot. A line here is a unit of treatment, not a wrinkle. Your doctor decides the count after examining you.
What the FDA has cleared
- Ultherapy was first cleared in the US in 2009 to lift the eyebrow.
- A 2018 clearance (510(k) K180623) lists lifting lax tissue under the chin and on the neck, and décolleté lines and wrinkles.
- Ultherapy PRIME: trade news reporting a Merz announcement says the FDA cleared it for knee skin laxity in 2026, after the face, décolleté, abdomen and arms.
- The same news says full service and support for the earlier Ultherapy system are scheduled to end on 30 September 2027.
We found no published line count for the brow alone or for the area under the chin.

The Hi5 paper that gives the 800 to 1,200 figure reports that its own protocol averaged 280 lines per visit, over several visits.
Shurink
- A Korean peer-reviewed study lists Shurink as Ultraformer III from Classys, Seoul. Clinics in this directory also list a model called Shurink Universe. Our sources do not describe that model separately.
- A Korean study used 120 shots for the cheek and 450 shots for the abdomen and thigh.
- A study of the Ultraformer MPT (a different model name) used 300 shots per participant, 150 at 3.0 mm and 150 at 4.5 mm, in 50 Asian women.
- Classys's own compilation of studies reports 500 ± 50 shots for the full face except the nose and eyes, in an Indian study of 20 patients. This has not been verified as peer-reviewed.
- Shurink and Ultherapy are different devices with different energy per pulse. No source we read equates one Shurink shot with one Ultherapy shot.
How clinics in Korea quote Ultherapy and Shurink prices
Korean clinics sell HIFU by shot count. These patterns are common in the prices that clinics in this directory publish:
- By shot count. Packages are 100, 200, 300, 400, 600, 800 and 1,000 shots.
- A lower price per shot for bigger packages. At most clinics the price per shot falls as the count rises. The tables show the price per shot.
- Ultherapy PRIME. Most clinics now list Ultherapy PRIME.
- Smaller packages for small areas. The eyes, neck and forehead are sold as smaller shot packages.
- Shurink far lower per shot. Shurink is priced far lower per shot than Ultherapy. These are different devices, so a per-shot price is a useful comparison only within the same device.
- VAT usually excluded. "부가세 별도" (bugase byeoldo) means VAT is charged on top of the listed price. Most clinics list it this way, but not all.
- Event prices. Time-limited event prices are common. They are not in the tables on this page, and neither are packages that bundle another treatment.
A shot count alone does not say which areas are covered. Ask which areas the shots are for.

No label sets a number. A Korean study of the Ulthera system used 400 to 500 shots per face, with a mean of 420. Is 300 shots of Ultherapy enough?
