Skin Botox in Korea: microbotox, baby Botox and how clinics price it

What is skin Botox

In this guide, "Botox" means botulinum toxin in general, and "Botox (Allergan)" means the brand. Skin Botox (스킨보톡스, seukin botokseu) is not a separate product. It is ordinary botulinum toxin type A, diluted and injected in a different way.

• Microbotox. Many tiny droplets of diluted toxin are injected into the skin (the dermis) instead of deep into muscle. The aim is to reduce sweat and oil (sebum) gland activity, to improve skin texture and sheen.
• Same technique, several names. Reviews use "microbotox", "mesobotox" and "microdroplet technique" for the same off-label use. It aims to soften fine lines without a frozen look.
• Dilution. One review describes a typical preparation as a 1:5 dilution, which is 100 units in 5 mL. Another paper's technique used onabotulinumtoxinA (Botox) at 20 to 28 units per mL. Your doctor decides the dose.
• Baby Botox. We found no regulator or peer-reviewed definition of "baby Botox". The term is used loosely for lower-dose or preventive toxin. A 2025 systematic review of preventive toxin use found that long-term safety and efficacy are not yet established.

Regulatory status

• Korea (MFDS). We could not confirm MFDS approval of any toxin for skin-quality use such as pores, sebum or texture. Korean clinic pages that describe 스킨보톡스 are marketing pages, and we do not use them as a source.
• United States (FDA). Microdroplet or intradermal use is off-label. It is not an FDA-approved indication. "Off-label" means used for a purpose that is not listed on the product's approved label. The US BOTOX Cosmetic label describes the product as intended for intramuscular use.

How clinics in Korea price skin Botox

These patterns are common in the prices that clinics in this directory publish:

• Whole face or by area. Many clinics list skin Botox for the whole face. Some list the forehead, cheeks (for pores) or neck separately. Our sources give no label or consensus dose for full-face skin Botox, so ask how many units go into the face.
• By cc. Some clinics price per cc, for example 1 cc or 4 cc. The cc is a volume of diluted liquid, so it does not tell you the number of units. Ask for the units.
• Several prices by toxin brand. As with other Botox, many clinics list the same skin Botox item at different prices by product. Korean-made toxins (국산, guksan), such as Coretox, Nabota, Botulax and Newlux, are usually priced lower. Xeomin and Dysport are usually in the middle. Botox from Allergan is usually priced highest. Imported (수입, suip) means made outside Korea. Units are specific to each product, so compare the same product. Our Botox guide explains units.
• Bundles. Some clinics bundle skin Botox with a lifting device, a skin booster or the platysma (neck bands). A bundle price is not comparable to a skin-Botox-only price.
• VAT usually excluded. "부가세 별도" (bugase byeoldo) means VAT is charged on top of the listed price. Most clinics list it this way, but not all.
• Event prices. Time-limited event prices are common. Check the end date.

Published prices

The table shows each clinic's published prices for skin Botox. Toxin brands, areas, bundles and VAT basis differ, so compare like with like.

Downtime and aftercare

• Each injection raises a tiny pale bump (weal) in the skin.
• If the toxin reaches deeper muscle, because it is placed too deep or the volume is too large, partial muscle weakness can occur. Because the concentration is low, such effects are temporary and usually settle within 2 to 3 weeks.
• Pore improvement is short-lived. One review says repeat treatment is needed in about 3 to 4 months, and that the short duration means sessions are frequent.

Your doctor gives aftercare instructions and decides the schedule after examining you.

Questions to ask the clinic

• Which toxin will be used, and where is it made? Ask to see the box or the vial label.
• How many units go into the face, and in how many injection points?
• Is this injected into the skin or into muscle? What is the aim: pores, sebum or fine lines?
• What does "baby Botox" mean at this clinic, if it uses the term?
• Who injects: the head doctor or another doctor, and does that change the price?
• How long does the clinic say the effect lasts, and when should I come back?
• Is VAT included (부가세 별도 means it is not), and is this a regular or an event price?

What is skin Botox?

Skin Botox is diluted botulinum toxin injected as many tiny droplets into the skin, not deep into muscle. The aim is to reduce sweat and oil gland activity and improve skin texture and sheen. It is also called microbotox or mesobotox. It is not a separate product, and it is an off-label use. Your doctor decides the dose.

Is skin Botox the same as baby Botox?

Not necessarily. "Baby Botox" has no regulator or peer-reviewed definition in our sources, and people use it loosely for lower-dose or preventive toxin. Skin Botox means microdroplet injections into the skin. A clinic that uses either term may mean something different, so ask what is injected, where and how many units.

Is skin Botox approved?

Not for this use, in our sources. Microdroplet or intradermal use is off-label, and it is not an FDA-approved indication. The US BOTOX Cosmetic label describes intramuscular use. We could not confirm MFDS approval of any toxin for skin-quality use. Off-label use is a decision for you and your doctor, who can explain the risks.

How long does skin Botox last?

One review says pore improvement is short-lived and that repeat treatment is needed in about 3 to 4 months. The technique has a short duration of action, so sessions are frequent. Results differ between people, and your doctor decides the schedule. Ask the clinic how long it expects the effect to last and why.

How much does skin Botox cost in Korea?

Korean clinics usually price skin Botox for the whole face or per cc, and many list several prices by toxin brand. Korean-made toxins are usually priced lower than Botox from Allergan. Some clinics bundle it with another treatment. VAT is often listed separately. The table shows each clinic's published price with the VAT basis and the check date.
